How to choose the right rope for rhythmic gymnastics?

Nowadays, there is a wide variety of skipping ropes for rhythmic gymnastics, differing in rigidity, thickness, weight and length. Professional manufacturers have ensured their ropes are heavy and fly well but at the same time are soft enough not to lash gymnasts while training.

Standard ropes are usually 3 meters long. It should be measured and cut in accordance with the height of the gymnast. The correct length of the rope with the knots should reach armpits. To measure, the gymnast must stand in the middle of the rope and lift it up to the shoulders and make a knot on both sides.

Once the rope on both sides is cut, immediately treat the ends with fire so that it does not disband. The knots of a good quality rope is easily tied and hold firmly.

To make sure it serves longer and to protect it from dirt and tangling in a training bag, the rope should be kept in a special rope holder.

The nylon ropes can be hand washed or machine-washed with a small amount of detergent set at delicate mode. Water temperature should be no more than 30 degrees. A high-quality rope does not change color after washing.
