Rhythmic gymnastics came from many different things, like ballet. It also came from the German way of using equipment and the Swedish way having freedom to work on rhythm.
Rhythmic gymnastics became official in 1963, and in 1964, the first competition happened. A gymnast from the Soviet Union named Ludmila Savinkova won.
The first time rhythmic gymnastics was in the Olympics was in 1984 in Los Angeles. That year, a Canadian gymnast called Lori Fung won.

Clubs are one of the 5 RG apparatus. They come in different colors and materials- rubber, plastic, or a combination of the two.
Clubs are the most hazardous of all RG equipment thus should be used with care to avoid injury
General sizing guidelines:
🍭36 cm clubs are suitable for gymnasts aged 5-7
🍭40-41 cm clubs are suitable for gymnasts aged 8-11
🍭44-44 cm clubs are suitable for gymnasts aged 12 and older
To determine the right clubs size, following should be considered:
✨gymnast's height
✨gymnast’s arm length
Professional gymnasts taking part in international competitions should use clubs that conform to the standards of the Federation of International Gymnastics (marked FIG Approved)
